The Bruthen Mechanics Institute, (Bruthen Hall) was established in 1883 with the current building at 49 Main Street being built in 1912. In the past it has housed the Court of Petty Sessions, the Tambo Shire Council meetings, Senior Citizens and Adult Day Centre, picture theatre and a Circulating Library. It has seen countless social events in the life of the community and remains an important gathering place for the Bruthen and District.
Managed by a small group of volunteers the main hall, large meeting room, kitchen and the large grassed paddock area at the rear of the hall are available for hire. There is an undercover area at the side of the hall. Contact the bookings secretary for rates and terms and conditions. The main hall is suitable to seat around 100 people at tables (14 tables and 100 chairs available).
